The annual Resident Artist Fellowship Exhibition s The annual Resident Artist Fellowship Exhibition showcases the work of all 10 current long-term resident artists in the North Gallery at The Bray. Working in a wide variety of techniques, these artists present a rich and dynamic range of creative expression.

After two great years at The Bray, Laura Dirksen ( After two great years at The Bray, Laura Dirksen (@laurjanedirk._studio)  is headed back home to Ohio! During her residency, Laura wanted to push surfaces and switch up the orientations of her larger sculptures in even more compelling pieces. 

Her brightly colored and unique pieces will be missed here in Helena.

During his time at The Bray, Austin Coudriet (@aus During his time at The Bray, Austin Coudriet (@austincoudriet) pushed the scale of his work and created pieces to withstand the elements. His time here left him with skills to balance the business of being a full-time artist and the time it takes to make the art. 

After this, he is headed to Indianapolis to open a new studio. (@dustypantsstudio)

It's a bittersweet feeling to say goodbye, but we It's a bittersweet feeling to say goodbye, but we are proud of the work Sarah Alsaied (@saalsaied) has put into her time at The Bray.

During her residency, Sarah wanted to make time for developing a new body of work. Now, she's off to Minneapolis for a residency at the Northern Clay Center (@northernclaycenter), where she will keep creating and connecting with other artists.

The Bray offers Adult Continuing Education classes, a 10-week session in the Fall and Spring. These are taught by current resident artists at The Bray and allow students to spend more time building a new skill or refining their current studio practice. From hand-building to wheel-throwing to surface techniques, you're sure to find a topic that piques your interest.

Earlier today, The Bray announced that Rebecca Har Earlier today, The Bray announced that Rebecca Harvey has stepped down from her role as Executive Director to return to her studio practice. We want to thank Rebecca for her leadership and passion these past three years, and wish her the best of luck in her return to the studio - we can't wait to see what she makes next!

The Bray will continue to be led by current Managing Director, Brad Robinson, in the interim, while the board of directors undertakes a search for permanent leadership. Since joining The Bray in 2014, he has been a core member of the leadership team, playing a vital role in strategic planning, budgeting, staff management, and policy development.

"This piece is rooted in a seven-year project in which I am expressing my concern for our environmental crisis through depicting endangered species. This is the urn for the bull trout, which is currently a threatened species in Montana. I hope by showing the beauty of the species, we can develop compassion for their struggle." -Julia Galloway
